Alma Faye Johnson,
93, of Scottsburg IN died
Sunday, November 14 2004 at Bacala Nursing Center in Scottsburg. She was born
December 21 1910 in Scott County IN to the late
Arthur & Mabel
McCoskey Sutton.
She was married to James Z Johnson who preceded her in death on October 23 1974.
She & her husband were co-owners and farmers in Ripley County IN. Alma had also
been employed as a retail clerk for Gladstein's & Shapinsky's fashion stores in
Scottsburg. She was a member of the
Shelby area
church in Rexville IN.
Survivors: daughters: Brenda Comer (husband John) of Scottsburg and Carol Unser
of Florida; brother Jack Sutton of Hanover IN & 2 grandchildren. She was also
preceded in death by a son, 2 brothers, 3 sisters, & 1 grandchild.
Visitation: 4-8pm Tuesday November 16

Elmer L York, 83, of Scottsburg IN died Saturday, November 6 2004 at
his residence. He was born October 24 1921 in Clay County KY to the late
McKinley & Daisy Franklin York. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers,
Clyde & Philip York. He was married to Alma Bussey York who survives. Mr. York
was retired super market manager for Morgan Foods for 37-1/2 years; a member of
First Christian Church of Scottsburg and Scottsburg Lodge #572 F&AM and a
veteran of the US Coast Guard serving as a Seaman 1st Class during World War
II. Other survivors: sons: Steve & Mark York of Scottsburg & Brian York
(Kristine) of Cary NC. Daughters: Linda Craig (Mike) & Marsha (Phil) Stewart of
Scottsburg & Kathy Thompson of New Albany IN. Sisters: Barbara Cole & Eva
Johnson of Florida & Marie Mauck of Lafayette IN. Brother: John York of Hanover
IN. Also 7 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation: 4-8pm Tuesday November 9 2004 and 9-11am Wednesday November 10 2004 at Stewart Funeral Home. Funeral Services: 11am Wednesday at Stewart Funeral Home with Larry DeWitt officiating and burial in Scottsburg Cemetery with military graveside services provided. Shawn Michael Barger,
39, of Scottsburg IN, died October 29 2004 in Jeffersonville IN. He was born
November 28 1964 in Louisville KY to Troy Barger and Roberta Ann Batman Merrill.
He was preceded in death by his mother. Survivors: father, Troy Barger; brother,
Tim Barger; 3 nieces & nephews.

Funeral Services at 10am Wednesday at the church with William Joseph Colwell
officiating and burial in Scottsburg Cemetery. Stewart Funeral Home in
