Carl Burr, 60, died Monday, April 18 2005 at VA Medical Center in Louisville KY. Carl was born November 5 1944 in Scottsburg IN to James Burr Sr & Ruth LaMaster Burr. He was a graduate of Scottsburg High School; a member of First Christian Church of Scottsburg; Amick-Baker-Kellems Lodge 156; and was a U.S.Air Force veteran serving as an air policeman, 1963-1967. Carl had retired from the Scott County Sheriff's Dept April 23 2004 having the longest service record with the department and serving under 4 different sheriff's.  Survivors: daughter; Courtney Cullins (David) of Scottsburg IN; son; Aaron Burr of Scottsburg IN; brother; James Burr Jr. of Scottsburg IN; sisters; Phyllis Ramoni (Fred) of Pekin IN; & Sue Filling of Summer Point NJ; grandchildren: John Cullins, Nicholas Cullins, Kaylie Burr, & Katelynn Burr. He was preceded in death by his parents & a son, Timothy Wayne Burr.


Visitation: 4pm-8pm, Wednesday April 20 2005 at Stewart Funeral Home & 9am-11am Thursday at First Christian Church in Scottsburg IN. Funeral Services: 11am Thursday at First Christian Church with Larry DeWitt officiating & burial in Scottsburg Cemetery. Gertrude  "Gertie"  F  Fleenor
, 85, died Monday, April 11 2005 at her residence in Scottsburg IN. She was born May 4 1919 in Scott County IN to Robert & Myrtle Strouse Cooley, who are deceased along with her husband, Vasil Fleenor and a sister Bertha Baldwin. For 37 years Gertie was a fountain cook at Hancock's Drug Store. She was a member of First Christian Church of Scottsburg. Survivors: daughters: Anna Mae (Thomas) Barber of Elkhart IN; Jana M Fleenor Burbrink of Edinburgh IN; son, Melvin J (Patricia) Fleenor of Kokomo IN; brother, Clinton Cooley of Scottsburg IN; sister, Mildred Lord of Pleasant View IN; 4 grandchildren & 6 great grandchildren.
