Margaret Byrne, 83, died Sunday August 21 2005 at her residence in Pigeon Forge TN. She had resided most of her life in Scottsburg, having resided in Pigeon Forge the past 4 years. She was born January 29 1922 in Indianapolis IN to Clinton Martin & Clara B Reinhardt Martin who have preceded her in death. Margaret was previously a telephone operator during WWII; a retired bookkeeper for Martin Auto Supply in Scottsburg; and formerly worked in the payroll dept. at Morgan's in Austin. She was a member of Scottsburg United Methodist Church; Daughters of the American Revolution; Order of the Eastern Star in Scottsburg and Past Worthy Matron of Lexington Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors: son, Pete Byrne of Indianapolis IN; daughter, Rhonda Burns (husband Joe) of Pigeon Forge TN; sister, Mary Kriner of Scottsburg IN, 3 grandchildren, Bryen Burns of Ashville NC, Bradley Burns & Brent Burns of Pigeon Forge TN. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers & 1 daughter.

Martha M Cain, 86, of Deputy IN, died August 15 2005 in Jeffersonville
IN. She was born October 12 1918 in Jefferson County IN to Marquis D & Elizabeth
Graham Phillips who are deceased. She was married to Melvin Cain who also
preceded her in death. Mrs. Cain had retired after 28 years as a nursing
assistant at Madison State Hospital. She was a member of Lick Branch Baptist
Church and a member of U.S. Forestry. Survivors: son, Donald L Cain (wife
Shirley) of Scottsburg; daughters, Carolyn O'Brien (husband Edward) of
Chattanooga TN, Elizabeth J Martin (husband Daniel) of Crothersville IN, Judith
Cain of Columbus IN; sister, Mary Blasdel of Deputy IN; 10 grandchildren & 10
great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by 1 son, 5 brothers & 1 sister.

Indiana, died Thursday, August 11 2005 at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg
Indiana. She was born August 15 1922 in Little York Indiana to Frank & Alice
Blunt Nelson. She married to Lee Jackson on December 20 1941. Aileen was a
homemaker and formerly held membership with the Eastern Star. Survivors: her
husband, Lee; son, David Jackson (wife Deb) of Scottsburg; daughters, Marcia
Bush (husband Melvin) of Little York, Brenda Asher (husband Wally) of Scottsburg
IN, Lois Gates (husband Linnie) of Little York, Rita Martin (husband Larry) of
Little York; sister, Geneva Royse of Scottsburg; 8 grandchildren & 6 great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister.

F "Pete" Burdin, 77, of
Sellersburg IN died Monday, August 8 2005, at his residence. He was born
November 15 1927 in Butler County KY to Pirtle & Mary Margaret Coy Burdin who
are deceased. Mr. Burdin was a retired truck driver for Kroger, member of
Teamsters Local #89 of Louisville KY; a former Boy Scout Leader Troop #107 in
Clarksville IN & a former volunteer for the Probation Office in Clark County
IN. He had also served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Pete was married to
Harriett Smith Burdin who survives. Other survivors include his sons; Rick
Burdin of Lexington KY, Jim Burdin of Clarksville, Doug Burdin of Greenville;
daughters, Debbie Famularo (husband Perry) of Jeffersonville, Carla Roberts
(husband Ronnie) of Savannah GA; 16 grandchildren & 23 great grandchildren. He
was also preceded in death by 3 brothers & 2 sisters.
Graveside Services: 10:30am, EST Thursday, August 11 2005 at Estil Cemetery near Scottsburg IN with Rev Bruce Bridgewater officiating. Following the graveside services, family will receive friends after 2pm EDST at Northside Church of Christ, Hwy 62 in Jeffersonville IN. Sherrill J Peters,
72, died August 3 2005 at Medical Center of Southern Indiana in Charlestown IN.
He was born October 3 1932 in Marysville IN to Kermit L & Kathryn Speer Peters.
Mr. Peters was married to Doris LaVerne Fellows Peters. He was a veteran in the
U.S. Air Force as a Senior Master Sgt. & served during Korea & Viet Nam. After
retiring from the military he was formerly employed for the State Hwy Dept,
formerly a security guard of Scott Memorial Hospital and former reserve deputy
of Scott County Sheriff Dept. He held memberships with Emmanuel United Methodist
Church in Marysville IN; English #622 F&AM; Indianapolis Valley Scottish Rite;
Indianapolis Murat Shrine; Scott County Saddle Club. Survivors: his wife, Doris
Peters of Underwood; son, Howard Peters (wife Janelle) of McAlester OK;
daughter, Pam Echols (husband Joe) of Underwood; brother, David Ward of
Cleveland OH; sisters, Margaret Bauer of Miamisburg OH & Mary Remley of Eaton
OH; 2 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren and his horses Choctaw & Cheyenne.

Lori Ann Clem, 37, died July 29 2005 in Austin IN. She was born July 8 1968 in Scottsburg IN. Lori was a waitress at A & W in Austin IN. She was married to Raymond Clem who survives. Other survivors include: sons, Brandon Coomer, Josh Coomer & Sean Whobrey all of Scottsburg; daughter, Ashlee Whobrey of Lexington; mother, Martha Patton of Louisville KY; father & step mother, Robert & Gladys Carey of Scottsburg; maternal grandmother, Phyllis Imogene Lee of Scottsburg; half sisters Sandra Lee Wentworth of CA & Mary Carey of Scottsburg, Denise Nichole Dean of Louisville KY; and half brother Lloyd Lee of Knoxville TN, step brothers, Roger Carey Jr of Austin, Roy Carey of Blocher, Dennis Carey of Lexington; and a grandson, Hunter Coomer of Scottsburg IN. She was preceded in death by her grandfather Russell Lee.

Helene Marie Petty, 67, of Scottsburg IN died Sunday July 31 2005 at Clark
Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville IN. She was born April 5 1938 in Columbia MO
to William David & Lucy Bower Gravitt who preceded her in death along with a
brother and a son, Edward W Petty. She was married to Max Petty, who survives.
She was a graduate of Scottsburg High School, Class of l956 and Spencerian
Business College. Other survivors: daughters, Vicki Jo Stonebraker (husband
John) of Elizabethtown IN & Kathy Lynn Petty of Scottsburg; and 2 grandchildren,
Karla Stonebraker & Craig Stonebraker.
