Kathleen Stewart, 84, of Scottsburg IN died July 10 2005 at Scott
Villa Living Center in Scottsburg. She was born October 5 1920 in Claremore
Oklahoma to Chester & Myra Anna Morris Henry, deceased. She was married to
Gordon Stewart who also preceded her in death along with 1 brother, 3 sisters,
2 grandchildren. For 2 years she attended Oklahoma State University, was a
homemaker and co-owner of Richey & Stewart Trucking Co. She was a member of
First Baptist Church, for 25 years was dean of Vacation Bible School,
volunteer in church nursery, chair of church social committee, Sunday School
teacher, 20 year volunteer at Scott Villa Living Center, Past Pres. of
Scottsburg Band Parents, former Brownie Scout Leader & PTA
President. Survivors: her children, Judith Lee Weir (husband Carl) of Tempe
AZ, Vicky Hansberry (husband Bob) of Longmont CO, twins Wally Henry Stewart of
Scottsburg & Winnie Parker (husband Tony) of Warner Robins GA, Cindy Kathleen
Sampson (husband Brad) of Seffner FL; brother, Hiram Henry (wife Wanda) of
Stillwater OK, 8 grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren.

Marvin Pate, 77, died Saturday, July 9 2005 at Jewish Hospital in
Louisville KY. He was born March 9 1928 in Mitchell IN to Clarence & Cora
Sweeney Pate who are deceased along with his first wife Ruby Catherine Wolka
Pate. Mr. Pate was a 1947 graduate of Brownstown High School, retired in l983
as an inspector with Cummins Engine, member of DWU (Diesel Workers United),
First Christian Church in Columbus, American Legion Post #89, and a U.S.Army
veteran Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Lavon Arbuckle Pate of
Scottsburg, daughter Marjorie Ann Freije (husband Joseph) of Franklin IN,
stepson Kevin Arbuckle (wife Tammy) of Scottsburg, stepdaughter Lisa Spicer
(husband Tom) of Scottsburg, brother Larry Pate (wife Sue) of Seymour and
grandchildren BJ & Staci Arbuckle, Liz Arbuckle, Lee Arbuckle, Kristen Spicer,
Kasey Spicer, Kim DeLaTorre.

Mabel Renschler, 97, died Tuesday, July 5 2005 in Austin IN. Mrs. Renschler
was a life resident and born in Lexington IN July 6 1907 to Clarence & Della
Bare Lowry. Mrs. Renschler was married to Dale Renschler who died July 7 1995.
Mrs. Renschler was a school teacher in the Scott County area for 35 years; a
member of Lexington Presbyterian Church for 84 years, member of the Scott County
Republican Club; and started the first perpetual care fund for the Lexington
Cemetery. Survivors: son, Larry Renschler (wife Connie) of Newburgh IN;
daughter, Bonnie Clapp (husband Paul) of Lexington IN; sisters, Ruby Taflinger
of Lexington IN & Anna Mae Taflinger of Indianapolis IN; 8 grandchildren & 16
great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 1 son, 1
grandchild, 3 brothers, 2 sisters.

Fields, 61, died Sunday, July 3 2005 at Columbus Health & Rehab in Columbus
IN. He was born May 24 1944 in Letcher County KY to Coy & Macie Caudill Fields,
deceased. Mr. Fields was a machinist with Technology One Inc in Austin, a member
of International Association of Machinist & a former member of ITT in North
Vernon. He was married to Nora Sizemore Fields who survives. Other survivors:
step-son, Bob West (wife Linda) of Scottsburg IN; son, Rickey Fields of Blocher
IN; brother, Jerry Fields of Letcher County KY; sisters, Eurilla Campbell of
Letcher County KY & Tessie Downey of Danville KY & a granddaughter, Skyla Fields
of Blocher IN.

John Arthur Howell, Sr., 84, died Friday, July 1 2005 in Jacksonville FL.
He had formerly resided in Deputy IN area. He was born September 13 1920 in
Underwood IN to Clarence Z & Nora Alpha Howell who are deceased. His first
marriage was to Ethel Bowen Howell who died September 9 1984. His second
marriage was to Dorothy Jean Gibson Howell who survives. Mr. Howell was a
subcontractor in construction with Linza Graham and a former member of the
Scottsburg FOP. Other survivors with his wife are sons: John Arthur Howell, Jr
(Judy) of Jacksonville FL; William Roy Howell (Linda) of Cynthiana KY; Michael L
Howell (Sherry) of Auburndale FL; daughters: Nancy L Baker (Robert) of Perdigo
AL; Sherry Shearn (Roger) of Ashland PA, Sue Carroll (Ron) of Deputy IN, Doris E
Flowers (Rick) of Deputy IN, Kay F Merriman (Bruce) of Scottsburg IN; brother:
Donnie Howell of Louisville KY; 29 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren & 6
great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son Robert L
