Mary Elizabeth Johnson, 89, died August 14 2005 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie IN. She was born May 3 1916 in Warsaw IN to Charles M & Edith Connell Johnson, deceased. The family had formerly resided in the Vienna area of Scott County IN. She is survived by her nephew, Charles "Mike" Johnson of Brownsburg IN. Mary Elizabeth graduated with a BS from Butler University; a MS from Purdue; and a MSLS from Columbia University. She retired in l982 as an associate professor at Ball State University, was a former teacher at Batesville High School in Batesville IN & Marion High School in Marion IN. She held memberships with First Baptist Church in Muncie IN; was a 50 year member of OES (Order of the Eastern Star); American Library Association; Alumnus of Delta Zeta Sorority.
Funeral Services: Graveside 2pm EST Friday September 16 2005 at Scottsburg Cemetery with Dan Mattox officiating.
Danny Lynn Babbs, 45, of Scottsburg IN, died Saturday, September 3 2005 at Hickory Creek in Scottsburg. He was born November 3 1959 in Seymour IN to John William & Christine Watson Babbs who survive. Mr. Babbs had been employed as a construction worker, was a a member of Austin Christian Church & Scottsburg American Legion. Other survivors include a daughter, Tiffani Babbs of Scottsburg; a step daughter, Alexandria LaMaster of Scottsburg; a brother, Johnny Babbs of Scottsburg; & sisters, Shirley Schrink of Seymour, Linda Working of Peru IN, Vicki Napier of Jacksonville FL, & Janet Palmer of Lakeland FL.
Graveside services will be 2pm, Sunday, September 4 2005, at Scottsburg Cemetery with Andy Watts officiating. Memorial Contributions to Vista Care or Youth Group at Austin Christian Church c/o Stewart Funeral Home 80 N 1st St Scottsburg IN 47170.
