Rodney Allen Brown, 54, of Scottsburg IN died January 18 2006. He was born January 13 1952 in Owensboro KY to Frank Truman Brown and Ruth Parker Brown. Rodney had recently graduated from Ivy Tech as a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Hickory Creek of Scottsburg. His marriage was to Betty Dumesnil. Survivors with his wife, Betty of Scottsburg are his mother, Ruth Brown of Jeffersonville; son, Jason Brown of Isanti MN; stepson, Dan Calloway & wife Janice of Sellersburg; brother, Frank Brown & wife Susan of Redondo Beach CA; sisters, Phyllis Schickel & husband David of Floyds Knobs IN & Venita Tindor & husband Bill of Jeffersonville IN; and 2 grandchildren, Isabella Grace Brown & Lillian Estella Brown. He was preceded in death by his father.

Gerald W Gladden
, 92, of Scottsburg IN died Monday, January 16 2006 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville KY. He was born August 19 1913 in Scottsburg IN to John E & Clara A Kimberlin Gladden. He was married to Menta Salyers Gladden. Gerald was a retired farmer, retired school bus driver (32 years), retired from Morgan Foods (30 years), a former Lexington Twp Trustee, and a member of Park Street Church of Christ in Charlestown IN. Survivors: wife, Menta, of Scottsburg; son, Timothy Gladden of North Vernon IN; daughter, Janet Fields of Lexington IN; 9 grandchildren & 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, a daughter, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, & 1 great grandchild.

Betty L Judd
, 84, died Saturday, January 14 2006 at her residence. She was born November 26 1921 in Crothersville IN to Horace C & Goldie Myrtle Silence White, deceased. She was also preceded in death by 2 brothers. Betty was married to Hiram Judd who survives. She was a graduate of Crothersville High School; a member of First Christian Church of Scottsburg; former co-owner of Pioneer Village, former co-owner of Scottsburg Lanes, former co-owner of Judd Variety & Hardware, former owner of Little Boy Blue Nursery School, former newspaper delivery, and a homemaker. Also surviving are 5 sons: Jerry L Judd (wife Pat) of Scottsburg, Billy L Judd (wife Donna) of Carmel IN, Richard L Judd (wife Sandra) of Scottsburg, Kevin L Judd (wife Teresa) of Pendleton IN, Roger L Judd (wife Joyce) of Danville IN; 7 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren.

Woodrow "Woody" Sparrow, 84, died Saturday, January 7 2006 at Scott Villa Living Center in Scottsburg IN. He was born March 26 1921 in Chaplain KY to John E & Mary Alpha Barker, deceased. He was married to Vera Waskom Sparrow. Woody retired from Midwest Gas Co.; was a former deacon, trustee & member of First Christian Church of Scottsburg; 50 year & past Master of Crothersville F&AM Lodge #610; member of Scottsburg Volunteer Fire Dept; and a veteran of World War II serving in the Air Force. Survivors: wife, Vera; son, John & wife Fran Sparrow; 3 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers & 1 sister.
