Keith David Shafer, 76, of Scottsburg, died Wednesday, September 27 2006 at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg. Keith was born December 24 1929 in Athens Ohio to Paul Dewey & Forrest Rose Dupuer Shafer who are deceased. He was married to Madge Cissell Shafer on February 19 1956 who survives. After high school, Keith served in the U.S.Army during the Korean War as a cryptographer. He was formerly employed at ICI, formerly employed by Scottsburg City Police, and formerly employed at Wal-Mart. Other survivors: daughter, Jackie Dietrich & husband John of Henryville IN and 4 grandchildren: Liz Arbuckle, Lee Arbuckle, Johnny Dietrich, & Jacob Dietrich. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers. Visitation: 4-8pm Thursday September 28 2006 and after 10am Friday at Stewart Funeral Home. Funeral Services: Military Graveside service 1pm Friday September 29 2006 at Cravens Cemetery near Vienna IN. Chaplain of Sellersburg American Legion Post officiating with burial in Cravens Cemetery. Marian Evelyn Middleton, 87 of Lexington IN, died Tuesday, September 19 2006 at Hickory Creek of Scottsburg facility. She was born September 26 1918 in Jeffersonville IN to C. Herbert & Bertha Phillips Middleton. Having lived in the area since l921, she had previously lived in Mishawaka IN, Monroe OH, Staunton IL, & New Albany IN. Marian was a graduate of Indiana University obtaining a AB in 1940 & a MA in l960. She was a teacher and librarian and retired in l985 from New Albany-Floyd County Consolidated School Corp. having had a teaching profession during l940-l945 & l947-l983 and served 2 years at Fort Belvoir VA with the Red Cross. Marian held memberships with First Presbyterian Church of Scottsburg and Lexington Historical Society. Survivors: her caregivers, Eva Hobson & Marlyn Julian of Scottsburg and Marjorie Lindsley of Longmont CO. Visitation: 4-8pm, Thursday, September 21 2006 and 10am-2:30pm Friday at Stewart Funeral Home. Funeral Services: 2:30pm, Friday, September 22 2006 at the funeral home with Rev. Ann B Haw officiating and burial in Lexington Cemetery. James L Terrell, Sr., 64, died Saturday, September 9 2006 at the Veterans Medical Center in Louisville KY.  James was born July 27 1942 in Commisky IN to Raymond H & Wilma Richey Terrell, who are deceased. He married Marilyn K Foster Terrell on November 25 1973.  James was a graduate of Deputy High School, a member of Bethany Baptist Church, and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving l960-1963.
