Mary L Dieterlen, 80, of near Henryville IN, died Sunday, August 26 2007 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville KY. Mary was born February 20 1927 in Washington County IN to William & Alta Winslow Altemeyer who are deceased. She married Leland G Dieterlen in l951 and he also preceded her in death. Mary was a homemaker, a loving mother, and a former assistant cashier at Austin State Bank. She was a graduate of Scottsburg High School and attended Kentucky Christian College. Mary was a member and had taught Sunday school for 55 years at Mt. Moriah Church near Henryville. Survivors: sons, David W Dieterlen of Henryville & Donald E Dieterlen (Debra) of Elkhart; daughter, Deborah J Adams (Bruce) of Henryville IN; 6 grandchildren, Sheryl Bowyer of Jeffersonville, Jennifer C Craig & Bradley K Adams of Henryville, Laura M Dieterlen, Sara E Dieterlen & Kelly J Dieterlen of Elkhart; 4 great grandchildren, Hailee Jean Craig, Rylee Mitchell Craig, Emma Jane Craig, Noah Gardner all of Henryville; brothers, Lawrence Altemeyer (Sandra) of Brownsville TX & Vern Altemeyer (Barbara) of Indianapolis IN. Charlotte I Rogers, 79, of Scottsburg, died Monday, August 20 2007 at Hampton Oaks in Scottsburg. She was born April 2 1928 in Scottsburg IN to Harry & Elsie Sparks Clark who are deceased. Charlotte was a homemaker, a member of New Frankfort Church in Austin IN, member of American Humane Society, and Disabled Veterans of America. Survivors: daughter, Wanda Jean Gillespie (Rodney) of Edinboro PA; lifelong friend, Ray Elkins of Scottsburg; grandchildren, Melinda McVey-Smith of Lexington, Charles McVey of Scottsburg, Ima McVey of Crothersville, 9 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild. She was also preceded in death  by 2 stepbrothers & 3 sisters. Visitation: 6pm-8pm, Wednesday August 22 2007 and 9am-10am, Thursday, at Stewart Funeral Home. Elvin L Bartle, 91, of Scottsburg died August 20 2007 at Beehives Homes of Scottsburg. He was born November 11 1915 in Scott County IN to David Franklin & Bertha E Dean Bartle, deceased. Elvin was married 72 years to Ann E Morris Bartle who survives. Elvin was a graduate of Jeffersonville High School in l934, was a member of Vienna Baptist Church, and retired as manager in l980 after 40 years with Wash-Scott County Co-op in Scottsburg. Survivors along with his wife Ann; son, David Bartle (Kathi) of Scottsburg; daughters, Ruth A Comer (Bob) of Scottsburg, Carolyn Comer (Ron) of Scottsburg, Alcia G Manek (George) of Hanover; brother, Robert G Bartle of Brownsburg; sister, Melva Grace Davis of Salem; 11 grandchildren & 19 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Rae Bartle, Farrell Bartle & Orriss Bartle. William Alan Steward, 48, of Austin IN, died Thursday, August 16 2007 at his residence in Austin. William was born February 12 1959 in Scottsburg IN to Howard Donald & Alice Faye Trotter Steward. William was a graduate of Scottsburg High School and was formerly employed at Watterson Monument. Virgle Roman Meeks, 70, of Jennings County & formerly of Scott County Indiana, died Wednesday, August 1 2007 in Clarksville TN. He was born February 19 1937 in Washington County IN to Chester H & Lucille Scruggs Meeks. Roman retired after 29 years with the U.S. Army as a Master Sargent in Field Artillery & Air Defense.  He attended Deputy High School, was a member of the Baptist Church in El Paso TX, Shriners of Lawton OK, Rolling Hills Shrine Club, and an associate member of FOP Lodge 156 of Scottsburg. Survivors: sons, V.
