L McGuire, 72,
of Underwood, Wednesday, October 24 2007 at Scott Memorial Hospital. He was born
April 1 1935 in Underwood IN to Francis A & Louise E Hanson McGuire who preceded
him in death. He was married to Yvonne E Lorentzen McGuire who survives. Mr.
McGuire was a former Scott County school teacher, former missionary, and retired
from Cummins in research & development department. He received a BA degree from
Asbury College, Wilmore KY and a Masters from Indiana University. He held
memberships with New Chapel United Methodist Church in Underwood, IN; Gideon's
International; founder of New Life International Mission in Underwood, IN and
U.S. Navy Reserve. Survivors: along with his wife Yvonne; sons, Duvon McGuire &
wife Victoria of Underwood, Josiah McGuire & wife Paige of Underwood; daughters,
Martha Munchhof & husband Mike of CT, Maria Hall & husband Jeff of Underwood,
Linda Werst & husband Mike of OH; brothers, Ivan McGuire & wife Ruth Ann of
Scottsburg & Marvin McGuire & wife Betty of Underwood and sister Eileen McGuire
of Underwood; and 10 grandchildren, Cierla McGuire, Isiaac McGuire, Faith
McGuire, Hope McGuire, Grace McGuire, Ethan Hall, Evan Hall, Emma Hall, Mason
Werst, Lindsay Werst. Visitation: 4-8pm, Friday, October 26 207 at
Stewart Funeral Home and after 1pm Saturday at Scottsburg United Methodist

Jim Andrews, 60,
of Scottsburg, died Saturday, October 6 2007 at his residence. He was born
November 15 1946 in Scottsburg to Denzil & Ester Pearl Miller Andrews who
preceded him in death. Jim was a carpenter and a farmer. Survivors: brothers,
Robert Andrews of Avon IN & Harry Andrews of Scottsburg; uncles, Hobson Andrews,
Blonde Andrews both of Scottsburg, John Andrews of Jeffersonville; aunts, Irene
Johnson, Cleon Manley, Lelah Mount all of Scottsburg, Mary Peters of Clarendon
Hills IL, Peggy Pogue of St. Louis MO, Juanita Anderson of Salem, Jane Holstein

Melvin L Draper,
81, of Scottsburg IN died Saturday, September 29 2007 in Scottsburg. He was born
May 20 1926 in Harrison County IN to Charles & Ella Massey Draper who preceded
him in death. Melvin was retired as a car salesman having started Draper Auto
Sales in l957. He also loved boating and camping. A veteran of the U.S. Navy
during World War II, he attended First Baptist Church in Scottsburg and
Kimberlin Creek Baptist Church, was a member of VFW 6582, Scott County Moose
2324 and the American Legion. Survivors: wife, Jean West Draper; sons, Larry
Draper & wife Betty of Scottsburg & Bart Draper of Lexington IN; brothers, Jim
Draper of Leavenworth IN and Floyd Draper of Sulphur IN; sister, Beatrice Deal
of Scottsburg; 10 grandchildren, Lance Draper of Jeffersonville, Shelly Gannaway
of Clearwater FL, Marchelle Draper of Scottsburg, Kameron Draper, Kayleigh
Draper, Caroline Draper of Austin, Bryson Draper of Lexington, Delynn Draper
Rutherford of Scottsburg, Chad Nowlin & Jay Nowlin of Scottsburg. and 9 great
grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son Rodney Draper, a brother
Charles Draper and a sister Martha Draper. Visitation:: 4-8pm,
Wednesday, October 3 2007 and after 11am Thursday at Stewart Funeral Home.

Edna L Rice, 85, of Memphis IN, died Friday, September 28 2007 at Riverview Village Nursing Home in Clarksville IN. Edna was born July 11 1922 in Floyd County IN to David & Sara Hottell Quinn who are deceased. She was married to Paul Rice, Sr., who also preceded her in death. Edna was a member of First Christian Church of Scottsburg and was also a homemaker. Survivors; son, Wayne Rice & wife Jo of Memphis IN; 3 grandchildren which includes granddaughter Lynn Rice of Memphis and 3 great grandchildren. Edna was also preceded in death by a son, Paul Rice, Jr., a daughter, Martha J Rice, and a brother Clarence Quinn. Visitation: 4-8 pm, Monday, October 1 2007 and after 9 am Tuesday at Stewart Funeral Home. Funeral Services: 11 am, Tuesday, October 2 2007 at the funeral home and burial in Fairview Cemetery.
