Esther B Stewart, 90, of Scottsburg, died Wednesday, November 19 2008 at Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg, Esther was born December 28 1917 in Clark County IN to Caddie J & Cordie Anna Dickey Bower, deceased. She was married to Carl Stewart who also preceded her in death along with a grandson, Todd Fox. Esther was formerly employed at the old Indiana Army Ammunition Plant in Charlestown IN & as a cook for Scottsburg School District II. She was a member of First Christian Church of Scottsburg. Survivors: sons, Ronald Stewart & wife Connie and Gary Stewart & wife Pat all of Scottsburg and a brother Sharrell Bower of Jeffersonville IN; 5 grandchildren; Lori Turner, Lisa Rice, Jeremy Stewart, Donnette LaMaster, & Tonya Snyder and 9 great grandchildren; Jordan, Jacob, Cassidy, Kennedy, Samantha, Cody, Landon, Sydney, & Jesse Todd. Visitation: 4pm-8pm, Friday, November 21 2008 & after 9am Saturday at Stewart Funeral Home. Anna Alpha Campbell,
101, of Scottsburg IN, died Monday, November 17 2008 at Scottsburg Healthcare
Center. Edith was born September 26 1907 in Underwood IN to Jesse & Jessie
Palmer Alpha, deceased. She was married to William Lytle Campbell on October 26
1929 who is also deceased along with 4 brothers, Jesse, Randle, Johnnie, Homer
and 5 sisters, Nora, Grace, Hazel, Evelyn, Thelma. Edith was the fourth child of
10 children. She was a homemaker and a member of Underwood Baptist Church.
Survivors: her niece & caretaker, Hazel Bowen of Austin IN along with many
nieces and nephews. Visitation:
11am-1pm, Thursday, November 20 2008 at Stewart Funeral Home. Funeral Services:
1pm, Thursday, at the funeral home with Rev. Lee Brown

Meranda, 85, of Scottsburg IN, died Thursday November 6 2008 at Scott
Memorial Hospital. He was born May 24 1923 in Scott County IN to Lepert Onas &
Bertha McClellan Meranda, deceased and he was also preceded in death by a son,
David and 2 brothers. He married Geneva J Murphy on July 27 1946. Roy was
retired from Scott County Planning Commission and formerly employed at Scott
County Welfare Dept. He was a member of First Christian Church of Scottsburg,
Scott County Historical Society, Scott County Preservations Alliance, American
Legion, VFW, DAV, a 50 year member of Scottsburgh F&AM #572, and Charter Member
of World War II Memorial. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, World War II,
serving in Europe and Africa. Survivors with his wife, Geneva; son, Richard
Meranda & wife Connie of Franklin TN; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Meranda of
Murfreesboro, TN; 6 grandchildren, Byron, Matt, Monica, William, Marie, Rachel.
& 2 great grandchildren Cheyenne Meranda & Koen Meranda. Visitation:
4-8pm, Saturday November 8 2008 at Stewart Funeral Home and after 1pm Sunday at
First Christian Church of Scottsburg. Funeral Services: 2pm, Sunday at the
church with burial in Scottsburg Cemetery and Joe Smith officiating.

83, of Scottsburg IN died Tuesday, October 28 2008 at Wedgewood Healthcare
Center in Clarksville IN. She was born June 3 1925 in Livermore KY to Evan &
Katie Gilmor Wilson, deceased. She was married to William Samuel Morris also
deceased. Cora was a homemaker and a member of New Life Ministries in Austin IN.
Survivors: sons, James Robert Gilmore (Shirley) of Macombe MI, Jerry Morris
(Sheryl) of Commiskey IN, Bruce Morris (Lisa) of Warren MI, Pete Morris (Jenni)
of North Vernon IN; daughters, Bettie Hawn (Randy) of Scottsburg, Alice West of
Warren MI, Mary Redicker (Mark) of Woodbury MN; 2 brothers & 1 sister, 20
grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by
daughter Linda Sturgill & step daughter Cora Lee Morris.
