Theodora C Pratt, 85, a resident of Scottsburg since l998, died Thursday, August 27 2009 at Scott Villa Living & Rehab Center in Scottsburg. She was born May 28 1924 in Boston MA to Christy & Marjorie Sprague Kyrias. She was married to Ralph C Pratt. Teddi was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church of Scottsburg. Survivors: daughter Christine Pratt of Greenfield MA; granddaughter Veronica Blevins; niece & caretaker Gail Rosenberg & husband Richard of Scottsburg; several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. There will be no visitation or services. Private burial at a later date at Scottsburg Cemetery. Lelah D Mount, 87, of Scottsburg, died Thursday, August 20 2009 at her residence. She was born May 14 1922 in Scott County IN to Herman Floyd & Etta R Casey Miller. She was married to Paul E Mount. Lelah was a homemaker; a member of Zion United Methodist Church; a former den mother of Cub Scouts; a member of American Legion Auxiliary & Scott County Mental Health Association. Survivors: sons Ross V Mount of Scottsburg & Larry E Mount of Pekin IN; sisters Cleon Manley of Scottsburg & Jane Holstein of New Albany IN; 3 grandchildren Shannon L Mount, Shawn P Mount, Jason Dean; 3 great grandchildren Kolbey Mount, Kason S Mount, Dakota Mount. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, brother Herman Lee Miller, & sisters Ester Andrews & Juanita Anderson. Visitation: 4pm-8pm, Saturday, August 22 2009 & after 11am Sunday at Stewart Funeral Home. Funeral Service: 1pm, Sunday, August 23 2009 at the funeral home with Rev. Jerry Wheeler officiating and burial in Beech Grove Cemetery, Washington County  IN. Memorial Donations: Zion United Methodist Church.

Sheila Beck Barnett, 54, of Scottsburg, died Wednesday, August 19 2009 at her residence. She was born October 12 1954 in Niagra Falls NY to Jerry L & Rella Davis Beck. Sheila was married to Clint Barnett.  She held membership with the Methodist Church and was a flooring designer. Survivors: husband Clint Barnett of Scottsburg; daughter Tanya Beck Kim of Chicago IL; son Cameron Coriuk of Tuscon AZ; brothers Keith Beck of Long Beach CA, Chip Watson of Long Beach CA, Chris Beck of Laguna Beach CA; sisters Bambi Beck Mylan of Brinnon WA & Kathy Plimmer of Charlotte NC. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Eric Watson. There will be no visitation or funeral services. Ellogene "Jean" Griffith Jackson, formerly of Scottsburg & a resident of Virginia Beach VA since 2002, died Sunday, August 16 2009 in Norfolk VA. She was born October 15 1919 in Scottsburg IN to William S Griffith & Minnie Edith Carlisle Griffith. She was married to John Ross Jackson, Jr. She was a graduate of Indiana University with the class of l941 and was a daughter of Alpha Omicron Pi. Jean was an active member of First Methodist Church of Downers Grove IL; a member of Westminister Players in Chicago & Grove Players in Downers Grove community theater groups. After her husband's death, she returned to Scottsburg & became active in the business community as the former owner of Jean's Gift Shop and a member the Scottsburg United Methodist Church. She was a former dance instructor on Lake Michigan cruise ships during summer breaks, was a legal secretary in Chicago during the war; was a columnist for the Downers Grove Reporter; served as executive assistant for the Downers Grove Chamber of Commerce & Indian Boundary YMCA. Survivors: daughters Patricia Shockley & husband Charles of Virginia Beach VA, Laura Lee Reynolds & husband Paul of Waupaun WI; sons Joseph Jackson & wife Heidi of South Barrington IL & David Jackson of South Holland IL; grandchildren Jackson (J.T.), Madelene, Morgan, Gregory, Ross & Lindsay; many nieces & nephews, cousins & her devoted Pokey. She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, brother Weyland Griffith & sisters Vivian Pearl "Viv" Griffth, Ellwynne May "Griff" Griffith & Velma Pauline "Pat" Mower.  Visitation: 4pm-8pm, Sunday, August 23 2009 at Stewart Funeral Home & after 9am, Monday, at Scottsburg United Methodist Church. Blaine R. Combs, 92, died Saturday, August 15 2009 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville IN. He was born November 6 1916 in Hazard KY to Kelly & Sara Sally Jent Combs who preceded him in death. Mr. Combs was retired from the military having served with the U.S. Army during World War II and was also a retired licensed barber. He held memberships with the Baptist Church, the VFW & the American Legion. Survivors: daughter Debbie Schmidt of Elsmere KY and grandchildren Miranda Lee Irene Weston, David Lee Adam Weston, & Vincent Richard Allen Schmidt. He was also preceded in death by his brothers Tom Combs & Hebron Combs. Visitation: 9am-11am, Monday, August 17 2009 at Stewart Funeral Home. Funeral Services: 11am, Monday, at the funeral with Pastor David James officiating and burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Austin IN. Military Graveside Services at the cemetery by Crothersville VFW.
