Michael Lester Marling,
60, of Underwood IN, died Monday, August 16 2010 at his residence. He was born
November 14 1949 in Scottsburg IN to Kenneth & Margaret Marling who are
deceased. Michael served in Viet Nam with the U.S. Army and was an employee with
Cummins Engine in Columbus IN. Survivors: sons Joseph Scott Marling (Anna)
of Louisville KY, Michael L Marling II of Henryville IN; daughter Margaret
Josephine Marling of Underwood IN; brother Billy Reynolds of Oregon; sister
Linda Smith of Austin IN; 5 grandchildren, Kayla Marling, Carley Marling, Kortni
Marling, Cassie Marling, & Joanna Marling.

Waters of Seymour, Seymour IN. She was born August 14 1917 in Deputy IN to Ruben
Dryden & Doris Regina Polk Dryden, deceased & was married to James D Moran, also
deceased. She was a member of First Christian Church of Scottsburg; a homemaker;
& a retired employee of the old Crothersville Shoe Factory. Survivors: son Carl
Douglas & wife Susan of Morgantown IN; daughters Kim Sanchez & husband Victor,
Sandy Obremski & husband Bryan of Scottsburg, Ruth Moran Craven & husband Lee of
Louisville KY; brothers Donald Dryden of Morton IL & Daryl Dryden of Twin Falls
ID; 8 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; & 2 great great grandchildren.

93, of Austin IN, died at his residence, Sunday, August 8 2010. He was born July
19 1917 in Perry County KY to Pad Combs & Pline Couch Combs, who are deceased.
He was married to Sarah Jane Combs, also deceased. Mr. Combs was a retired coal
miner & member of Cross Roads Community church. Survivors: 7 sons, Rolen &
Gladious Combs of Atlanta GA, Homer & Norma Combs of Alexandria KY, Wade Combs
of Austin, Wayne Combs & Jennifer of Hope IN, Gary & Lisa Combs of Columbus,

Wilma J & Henry Gay, Edinburgh, Ruth & Larry Schryer, Austin, Shirley Stamper,
Dayton KY, Darlene & Tracy McIntyre, Columbus; 39 grandchildren, 54 great
grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 2
sons Charlie & Monroe Combs, 3 daughters Thelma Combs, Pauline Crawford & Addie
Mae Mullins; 4 brothers Estil, Jack, Coy & Monroe Combs; & 4 sisters Liza
Miller, Oma White, Ida Bush & Rucie Mae Williams.

Rachelle "Shelley" Dawn Comer Akers,
35, of Scottsburg IN, died Monday, August 2 2010. She was born April 7 1975 in
Louisville KY to Robert & Ruth Ann Bartle Comer. Shelley was married to Kyle
Thomas Akers. She was a graduate of Scottsburg High School and IUS and was
office manager of Purdue Extension Office in Scottsburg. Shelley attended New
Chapel United Methodist Church near Underwood; was involved with 4-H through the
Extension Office; was a member of Scott County Community Foundation serving on
the scholarship committee; & was a volunteer for Relay for Life. Survivors: her
husband Kyle; her daughters, Alexis Leiann Comer Akers & Addison Macy Comer
Akers; parents Robert & Ruth Ann Comer; brother Russell Wayne Comer & wife
Bonnie; grandmother Ann Bartle, all of Scottsburg; her father & mother-in-law

Louisville KY. He was born April 9 1932 in Letcher KY to Ercell Edward Hall &
Ottie Halbrook Hall, who preceded him in death. Jim was married to Wilma Richey
Hall. He was a retired truck driver & painter; a member of Bethel Baptist Church
in Leota; a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite & the Shrine; and a
veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea. Survivors: wife Wilma Hall; sons Dean
Hall, Richard Hall & wife Coleen, Jeff Hall & David Hall & wife Glenna; 7 grandchildren;
and 3 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers Daniel Hall & J B
Hall.
