James M Hall, 78, of Scottsburg IN, died Wednesday, July 28 2010 at Norton Hospital in Louisville KY. He was born April 9 1932 in Letcher KY to Ercell Edward Hall & Ottie Halbrook Hall, who preceded him in death. Jim was married to Wilma Richey Hall. He was a retired truck driver & painter; a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Leota; a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite & the Shrine; and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Korea. Survivors: wife Wilma Hall; sons Dean Hall, Richard Hall & wife Coleen, Jeff Hall & David Hall & wife Glenna; 7 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers Daniel Hall & J B Hall. Visitation: 4pm - 8pm, Sunday, August 1 2010 at Stewart & Hoagland Funeral Home & after 9am Monday at Bethel Baptist Church in Leota IN. Funeral Service: 11am, Monday, August 2 2010 at the church with Rev Bern Kiser officiating & burial in Bethel Cemetery, Leota IN. Masonic services, 7pm. Sunday at the funeral home. Okey C George, 93, of Scottsburg IN died Saturday, July 24 2010 at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg IN. He was born December 4 1916 in Birch River West Virginia to Fillmore & Myrtle Gilbert George, deceased. He was married to Helen Vivian Collins George who also preceded him in death. Mr. George was retired from the military & also worked as a coal miner. He held memberships with First Christian Church of Scottsburg; VFW; Lions Club; American Legion; & Masonic Lodge. He was also a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army & U.S. Air Force. Survivors: Son, Okey L George (AJ) of Austin IN; daughters, Janet Disotell & Phyllis A Carter of Eagle River Alaska & Beulah Harbison of Frankford Delaware; brother Carl George of Birch River West Virginia; sister Irene Bragg of Birch River West Virginia; 3 grandchildren Samantha Cult, Benton Carter & Jennifer George. He was also preceded in death by 8 brothers & sisters. Private burial was held at Scottsburg Cemetery. Carl G Rose, 90, of Scottsburg IN died Monday, July 19 2010 at Scott Memorial Hospital. He was born April 21 1920 in Scott County IN to Zebulon Rose & Mary Alice Callaway Rose. He was married to Inez G Rose. Carl was retired from American Can in Austin IN and was a member of First Christian Church of Scottsburg having previously served as an Elder & Deacon. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army during WW II. Surviving: daughter Kay Osborne of Scottsburg IN; son Greg Rose & wife Connie of Seymour IN; a half brother Robert Rose of Illinois; 2 grandchildren Aaron Rose & Carla Osborne. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son-in-law Jack Osborne, 5 brothers & 5 sisters. Visitation: 4pm-8pm. Wednesday, July 21 2010 at Stewart & Hoagland Funeral Home & after 9am Thursday at his church. Funeral Services: 10am, Thursday, July 22 2010 at First Christian Church of Scottsburg with burial in  Scottsburg Cemetery & Larry J DeWitt officiating.
